Getting There
Hopkins Marine Station is on the border of Monterey and Pacific Grove right next door to The Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Airport at Monterey is conveniently located 5 miles away and connects with LA, San Francosco and Phoenix Airports. San Francisco Airport is 2 hrs drive in a rental car, and San José is an 1.5 hrs drive away. Both San Jose and SFO airports are served by the Monterey Airbus that drops you off in Downtown Monterey.
Accommodation
There are many local hotels in the area. These are some suggestions that are within walking distance of the conference:
High end: the Clement Intercontinental - 5 minute walk from Hopkins.
Midrange: Victorian and Monterey Bay Inn are mid range hotels within walking distance of Hopkins.
Budget: for a budget option, Borg's Motel in Pacific Grove is a good option.
